Shipping & Delivery
WHAT ARE THe SHIPPING cOSTS?
Free. All shipping costs to mainland UK are included free of charge within the order. There are no hidden extras.
Can I choose a shipping date?
Unfortunately, there is no way to alter or choose shipping dates and timing at this time. This is something which we are working on and hope to provide in the near future. Boxes are automatically sent after your payment has cleared.
How do the subscription boxes arrive?
We use recycled materials where possible for our packaging, and strive to make our packaging as environmentally friendly as we can. They are delivered by Royal Mail.
What if I have an issue with my delivery?
Please email customer services. We will be happy to help. We are able to track our packages, so please do get in touch. We are hoping to soon have the capability to enable customers to track their orders.
When will my subscription arrive?
We aim for subscriptions to arrive within 5 working days from payment clearing, but please allow 7 working days. Very occasionally our boxes will be delayed, but if this is the case then we will contact you as soon as possible.
WHY DON'T YOU LIST THE PRODUCTS INCLUDED?
Our selection is top secret. We work very hard to provide the very best for your child. We do not want copycat companies using our selection while not providing the best service, nor fair wages, nor do we want to allow other companies to cheat your community of the free resources which it desperately needs.
Why is My box slightly DIFFERENT to my friend's?
It is most likely because you have a different subscription level. If not, then it's probably because one was processed before the cut-off date for that month's selection, while the other order was processed afterwards.
How are the packs created?
We have a lovely team of experts who choose the very best books on the market for every age and stage. Each month, our aim is to provide the most variety possible, both in terms of the authors, characters, era written, reading ability and much more. We use a formula to select our amazing books.
Can I help choose the products for next year?
Are there gender-SPECIFIC subscriptions?
No. We believe that a good book is a good book for all genders. Even if a book is more boyish or girly, that does not mean that your child will not love it. Plus, it will provide them with a more rounded education and insight.
Will the books be paperbacks, hardback or board books?
For our youngest customers, we try to provide board books. Older children get a mixture of paperback and hardback books, but usually more softbacks as we try to keep the costs down.
The Book Fund
Why can only The listed professionals nominate children?
This is to protect everyone involved, and limits the applications which we receive from people who do not qualify, but would "like to try their luck". It costs us time and money to go through applications. Inappropriate applications divert our resources away from areas where they are needed more.
How many Times a year can you nominate someone?
Each professional individual can nominate as often as they wish, However, they must declare if they have nominated another child in the last 30 days.
Is there a waiting list?
Yes. There are only a limited number of free book subscriptions available each month. Children can either be rejected, placed on the waiting list or accepted by the independent committee.
do you prioritise some children?
Yes. Children who fall into more than one of our eligible categories are prioritied, as are those nominated children who are deemed to be the most needy or will benefit the most, as determined by our independent selection committee.
How do you DECIDE who is rejected and who is placed on waiting list?
This is done by a committee. All those who qualify are placed on the waiting list.
Can I help with the fund?
You may be able to join the committee. You can help by sharing our story, website or social media with your friends and family. Alternatively, why don't you gift a book subscription to your local school?
Can i donate my old pack to the fund after we've used it?
Are you a charity?
No, but we love charities and love to work with them whenever we can.
